Scientists think they’ve figured out why you’re always thirsty before bed

The Fasting Mimicking Diet (FMD) improves longevity while cutting the risk of cancer and diabetes by half, scientists have found.

A new diet could add years to life by actually slowing down the ageing process, scientists believe

A five day diet which mimics fasting could slow down ageing, add years to life, boost the immune system and cut the risk of heart disease and cancer, scientists believe.

The plan which restricts calories to between one third and a half of normal intake has been developed by academics at the University of Southern California.

Last year the same team discovered that fasting can regenerate the entire immune system, bringing a host of long-term health benefits.

But now they have found that a calorie-restricted diet comprising of vegetable soups and chamomile tea has the same affect. And dieters only need to follow the Fasting Mimicking Diet (FMD) for five days a month, eating what they like for the rest of the time.

“Strict fasting is hard for people to stick to, and it can also be dangerous, so we developed a complex diet that triggers the same effects in the body,’ said Professor Valter Longo, USC Davis School of Gerontology and director of the USC Longevity Institute.

“I’ve personally tried both, and the fasting mimicking diet is a lot easier and also a lot safer.

“I think based on the markers for ageing and disease in humans it has the potential to add a number of years of life but more importantly to have a major impact on diabetes, cancer, heart disease and other age-related disease.”

Day one of the diet comprises:

  • 10 per cent protein, 56 per cent fat and 34 per cent carbohydrate, making 1,090 calories

Days two to five:

  • Nine per cent protein, 44 per cent fat and 47 per cent carbohydrate making 725 calories

When humans tested out the regimen, within three months they had reduced biomarkers linked to ageing, diabetes, cancer and heart disease as well as cutting overall body fat.

For 25 days a month, study participants went back to their regular eating habits — good or bad They were not asked to change their diet and still saw positive changes.

Camomile tea and vegetable soup were highlighted as foods to eat in the new regimen

Feeding mice the equivalent restricted diet elevated the number of regenerative stem cells in the organs, including the brain where it encouraged the creation of new neurons which improved memory and learning.

When fed to middle aged mice, the diet also reduced the incidence of cancer, boosted the immune system, reduced inflammatory diseases, slowed bone mineral density loss and improved the cognitive abilities of older mice tracked in the study.

The researchers think it works by slashing a hormone which encourages growth, and has been linked to cancer susceptibility. Essentially it tricks the body into ageing more slowly.

“It’s about reprogramming the body so it enters a slower aging mode, but also rejuvenating it through stem cell-based regeneration,’ Professor Longo added.

“It’s not a typical diet because it isn’t something you need to stay on.”

Previous research has shown that cutting calories not only prevents weight gain but also prolongs good health and longevity.

However British health experts said that people may find it easier to just alter daily calorie intake rather than embarking on the intense five-day diet.

Naveed Sattar, professor of Metabolic Medicine at the University of Glasgow said: “The best way to alter weight trajectory or to lose weight is to make permanent and sustainable changes in ones dietary composition so that less high density calories like cakes, biscuits, crisps.

“This way, folk can eat three meals a day and still have total less calorie intake than they had previously. This, for me, is better for mind and body, and critically, more sustainable.”

The Fasting Mimicking Diet brings a range of health benefits as well as weight loss

Prof Lynne Cox, Associate Professor of Biochemistry, University of Oxford, said the results look promising.

“ For many years, caloric restriction (cutting out 30-40% of your calories each and every day) has looked the best bet for improving health outcomes during ageing, but this new diet appears much easier to stick to than caloric restriction – in humans, it involves taking low protein plant-based meal replacements that provided a third to a half of normal calorie intake for five days every month over a cycle of three months,” she said.

“What is noteworthy here is that the study incorporates a whole host of experiments from model organisms as simple as yeast cells, through mice and into a small controlled clinical trial in humans. All of the results point in one direction: periodically mimicking fasting leads to marked decreases in risk factors for diseases such as diabetes and heart disease, and, in mice, improved short and long term memory were observed.

“Yes, it needs more tests and in some cases different ways of measuring outcomes. But the trends look interesting. If over a longer time human findings match up to the results in mice then this type of intervention has the potential to improve health – though it is likely to be more relevant to young and middle-aged people as drastic metabolic changes may not be well-tolerated in older people.”

Professor Longo believes that for most normal people, the FMD can be done every three to six months, depending on the abdominal circumference and health status.

For obese subjects or those with elevated disease risk factors, the FMD could be recommended by the physician as often as once every two weeks.

His group is testing its effect in a randomized clinical trial, which will be completed soon, with more than 70 subjects.

‘If the results remain as positive as the current ones, I believe this FMD will represent the first safe and effective intervention to promote positive changes associated with longevity and health span, which can be recommended by a physician,’ Longo said.

Despite its positive effects, Longo cautioned against water-only fasting and warned even about attempting the fasting mimicking diet without first consulting a doctor and seeking their supervision throughout the process.

‘Not everyone is healthy enough to fast for five days, and the health consequences can be severe for a few who do it improperly,’ he said. ‘Water-only fasting should only be done in a specialized clinic and can increase the incidence of gallstones in women at risk if done improperly.”

The study was published in the journal Cell Metabolism funded by the National Institute on Aging.

Scientists Discover What Cannabis Does To The Bones

A marijuana chemical known as cannabinoid cannabidiol (CBD) helps fractures heal faster and even make the bones stronger than they were before, according to a study conducted by researchers from Tel Aviv University and Hebrew University and published in the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research.
CBD has no psychotropic effects.

“We found that CBD alone makes bones stronger during healing, enhancing the maturation of the collagenous matrix, which provides the basis for new mineralization of bone tissue,” researcher Yankel Gabet said. “After being treated with CBD, the healed bone will be harder to break in the future.”

Bones contain cannabinoid receptors

The researchers inflicted mild femoral fractures on rats, then injected some of them with CBD, and others with CBD plus tetrahydrocannabinol (THC, the ingredient that causes the marijuana high). They then evaluated the healing of the rats, comparing them with rats who had not received any marijuana chemicals.

The researchers found that rats injected with CBD had the same effect whether or not it was accompanied by THC.

“We found CBD alone to be sufficiently effective in enhancing fracture healing,” Gabet said.

“Other studies have also shown CBD to be a safe agent, which leads us to believe we should continue this line of study in clinical trials to assess its usefulness in improving human fracture healing.”

The study supported the same team’s prior findings that the body contains receptors that respond to cannabinoid compounds, and that these receptors are not confined to the brain.

“We only respond to cannabis because we are built with intrinsic compounds and receptors that can also be activated by compounds in the cannabis plant,” Gabet said.

The prior study found that the skeleton contains cannabinoid receptors that stimulate bone formation and inhibit bone loss. The new study seems to confirm these findings.

Medical marijuana benefits “undeniable”

The study is part of a growing body of research into the medical benefits of marijuana compounds, including CBD. The findings may lead to new research into ways that marijuana could be used to treat osteoporosis or other bone diseases.

“The clinical potential of cannabinoid-related compounds is simply undeniable at this point,” Gabet said.

“While there is still a lot of work to be done to develop appropriate therapies, it is clear that it is possible to detach a clinical therapy objective from the psychoactivity of cannabis. CBD, the principal agent in our study, is primarily anti-inflammatory and has no psychoactivity.”

The list of benefits to medical marijuana continues to grow. It is currently used primarily for chronic pain, to reduce side effects of chemotherapy and to improve appetite in AIDS patients. It has also shown promise in regulating blood sugar and slowing the progression of HIV. It is also being researched as a treatment for multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease.

Studies have shown that CBD suppresses seizures, stops the mestastasis of many aggressive cancers and may even kill leukemia cells.

A 2013 study in the journal Neuropsychopharmacology found that CBD was just as effective as a popular antipsychotic drug in the treatment of schizophrenia and paranoia, but without the dangerous side effects. Other studies have confirmed the effectiveness of CBD as a safe antipsychotic.

Although marijuana remains technically illegal under U.S. federal law, it is legal to use CBD for research or for limited medical functions in 17 U.S. states. The medical use of marijuana itself is legal in 23 other states.

The federal government still classifies marijuana as having “no currently accepted medical use.” Yet even this may be starting to change. The FDA recently approved CBD extracts as an experimental treatment for Dravet syndrome, a rare form of childhood epilepsy. Preliminary clinical trials are now going forward.

Archbishop Desmond Tutu asks for the right to an assisted death for himself

Archbishop Desmond Tutu celebrating mass at St George’s Cathedral, Cape Town, on his 85th birthday

Archbishop Desmond Tutu – whose life and struggles have inspired millions around the world – has said he wants to have an assisted death and end his life by his own choosing.

Writing on the occasion of his 85th birthday Archbishop Tutu said he does not want to be kept alive “at all costs” and maintains his right to decide when to depart from this world.

The Archbishop first spoke of his support for assisted dying two years ago, but this is the first time he has said explicitly that he would choose it for himself.

He said: “I have prepared for my death and have made it clear that I do not wish to be kept alive at all costs. I hope I am treated with compassion and allowed to pass on to the next phase of life’s journey in the manner of my choice.”

The Archbishop’s words come after he was admitted to hospital last month for surgery to treat a series of recurring infections related to his long running battle with prostate cancer, and it is understood the experience brought into sharp focus the imminent prospect of death.

Archbishop Tutu won admiration across the globe for his steadfast and courageous campaigning against apartheid in South Africa during the 1980s and early Nineties.

Following the introduction of democratic rule he went on to campaign against corruption, poverty and HIV, remaining a steadfast advocate of human rights across the continent.

For those suffering unbearably and coming to the end of their lives, merely knowing that an assisted death is open to them can provide immeasurable comfort.Archbishop Desmond Tutu

His words, in an essay for the Washington Post, will renew the debate over the rights and wrongs of assisted dying, an issue which still causes deep divisions within the worldwide Anglican Church and the wider community.

Archbishop Tutu wrote: “Just as I have argued firmly for compassion and fairness in life, I believe that terminally ill people should be treated with the same compassion and fairness when it comes to their deaths. Dying people should have the right to choose how and when they leave Mother Earth.”

He went on to state that he had reversed his lifelong opposition to assisted death in 2014, but had remained more ambiguous about whether he desired it for himself.

Now, however, he says: “Today, I myself am even closer to the departures hall than arrivals, so to speak, and my thoughts turn to how I would like to be treated when the time comes.”

Archbishop Tutu goes on to argue forcefully that while he believes in the sanctity of life, people – especially those in pain – should not be denied the right to make their own choice as to when they die.

“For those suffering unbearably and coming to the end of their lives, merely knowing that an assisted death is open to them can provide immeasurable comfort,” he said.

The Archbishop, who received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1984, celebrated his birthday on Friday by presiding over Eucharist at his home church, St George’s Cathedral, in Cape Town.

In his essay he repeated his support for the former Archbishop of Canterbury Lord Carey’s attempts to introduce a bill allowing doctors to help terminally ill people take their own lives in this country.

“In refusing dying people the right to die with dignity, we fail to demonstrate the compassion that lies at the heart of Christian values,” said Archbishop Tutu.

“I pray that politicians, lawmakers and religious leaders have the courage to support the choices terminally ill citizens make in departing Mother Earth.”

But Baroness Finlay of Llandaff, a former Welsh government adviser on palliative care and an opponent of assisted dying, questioned the burden the responsibility for assisting someone to end their life would place on the individual tasked with carrying it out and on a country’s medical services.

She said: “Suicide is not illegal and pain free methods are widely known, so the real question is who Archbishop Tutu wants licenced to assist his death?

“That person would have the responsibility of judging that he has the mental capacity to make such a decision, they would have to decide that the prognosis is correct and won’t change and they would have to carry the burden of helping him die.”

Chemicals, Vaccines, and Bill Gates: What You Need To Know About The Zika

Let’s try this one more time.. The Zika virus does not cause microcephaly.

Zika has existed for more than 70 years without a single documented birth defect attributed to the disease. The virus is insignificant and more mild than the seasonal flu, with symptoms ranging from a low-grade fever to body aches and other cold-like symptoms.

Bill-Gates-Zika-Connection

The fact of the matter is Big Chem has pesticides to sell and Big Pharma has a vaccine to push.

Suddenly, a disease that has been irrelevant for decades is an imminent health threat.

A gullible public has been tricked into believing the only way to save ourselves from certain death or deformed babies is to allow the aerial abatement of chemicals banned all over the world.

For example, this past weekend’s spraying in South Carolina was successful in wiping out those pesky Zika-carrying skeets. Too bad it also decimated the state’s bee population.

“On Saturday, it was total energy, millions of bees foraging, pollinating, making honey for winter. Today, it stinks of death. Maggots and other insects are feeding on the honey and the baby bees who are still in the hives. It’s heartbreaking.” -Juanita Stanley, Beekeeper

Millions of bees are dead as a result of the state’s first aerial spraying in 14 years. The pesticide, Trumpet (which contains naled), rained down from the sky for 2 hours early Sunday morning.

According to the manufacturer’s label, Trumpet is “highly toxic to bees exposed to direct treatment on blooming crops or weeds. To minimize hazard to bees, it is recommended that the product is not applied more than two hours after sunrise or two hours before sunset, limiting application to times when bees are least active.”

Hmmm…it must have been just an unfortunate oversight to spray heavily during the precise time explicitly discouraged on the label. But, hey, at least AMVAC Chemical Corporation and their parent company, American Vanguard Corporation are making millions.

Chemical corporations aren’t the only ones who will profit from an insignificant disease.

The U.S. government has commissioned Takeda Pharmaceutical Company for the development of a Zika vaccine, with as much as $312 million committed to funding.

Takeda said in a press release that the cash will be put to the development of an “inactivated, adjuvanted, whole Zika virus vaccine.”

Takeda Pharmaceutical has plans for more than just a “cure” for Zika. The Japan-based Takeda also has vaccines for dengue, norovirus and polio in the works.

“This Zika vaccine program joins our work in dengue, norovirus, our partnership with the Japanese Government on pandemic influenza, and the recently announced partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to help eradicate polio. These efforts to develop a vaccine against the Zika virus reinforce Takeda’s commitment to the health of people everywhere, including the most vulnerable populations that are threatened by Zika,” stated Dr. Rajeev Venkayya, Corporate Officer and President of the Global Vaccine Business Division at Takeda.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, you say? Now, that’s interesting.

How convenient that their little foundation has also funded Oxitec, the genetically modified mosquito project that many believe is actually spreading the Zika virus. What a clever guy. After all, there is quite a bit of profit in unleashing a disease on the population and then creating the vaccine to ‘cure’ it. (Read more about that here.)

As reported by Daniel Barker:

It’s easy to see where the Zika virus crisis might fit in with Bill Gates’ admitted depopulation agenda. Not only are babies being born nearly brain-dead, but now women throughout Latin America are being urged not to have children during the next two years. Coincidence?

And in the latest Zika news, GM mosquitoes are now being considered for use in fighting the further spread of the virus.

And of course, researchers are scrambling to develop a vaccine

The irony should not be lost on anyone that the proposed solutions for Zika containment (chemicals, vaccines) are the real causes behind the birth defects being blamed on the virus.

1. Monsanto’s Chemicals

Glyphosate, the main ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup, “probably” causes cancer according the the World Health Organization. It has also been linked to microcephaly.

The link was established in a study titled ‘Glyphosate-Based Herbicides Produce Teratogenic Effects on Vertebrates by Impairing Retinoic Acid Signaling.’

In the study, glyphosate-based concentrations were injected into frog and chicken embryos and it was discovered that microcephaly was a side effect in both, along with gradual loss of rhombomere domains and the reduction of the optic vesicles (the latter two are developing parts of the brain in an embryo). (Read the study here.)

Global Research Center also released a different report confirming Brazil’s rampant pesticide use if far more of a concern in microcephaly development than Zika.

According to the report:

“Pesticides in Brazil and Pernambuco state are more likely to be the cause of microcephaly and birth defects than Zika virus and the links below speak for themselves…” (View the links here.)

2. Tdap Vaccine

A study published in The National Center for Biotechnology Information reveals the the United Stated government has known for decades that a link between Tdap and microcephaly exists.

An exert from the study reads:

Prenatal factors are thought to account for 20 to 30 percent of cases. This category includes cerebral anomalies, chromosomal disorders, neurocutaneous syndromes such as tuberous sclerosis, inherited metabolic disorders, intrauterine infections, family history of seizures, and microcephaly (Bobele and Bodensteiner, 1990; Kurokawa et al., 1980; Ohtahara, 1984; Riikonen and Donner, 1979). (Read the full study here.)

At the end of 2014, the Brazilian government mandated the Tdap vaccine for all pregnant women and in the final months of 2015, the Zika-induced microcephaly ‘outbreak’ was all CNN could talk about.

29 countries all over the world have reported cases of the Zika virus, but not a single documented cases of Zika-related microcephaly exists anywhere but Brazil. That’s odd.

The Outliers has compiled a great fact sheet that everyone should read before receiving the Tdap vaccine. We still have a choice, despite the recent revelation of a CDC Quarantine Committee hell-bent on force vaccinating the American public. (Read about that here.)

Thank you to The Outliers for this invaluable information about the Tdap vaccine that the CDC pushes for every pregnancy, regardless of the patient’s previous history of receiving the vaccine.

FACT #1.There are ingredients in the pertussis-containing Tdap vaccine that have not been fully evaluated for potential genotoxic or other adverse effects on the human fetus developing in the womb that may negatively affect health after birth, including aluminum adjuvants, mercury containing (Thimerosal) preservatives and many more bioactive and potentially toxic ingredients.

FACT #2.The FDA has licensed Tdap vaccines to be given once as a single dose pertussis booster shot to individuals over 10 or 11 years old. The CDC’s recommendation that doctors give every pregnant woman a Tdap vaccination during every pregnancy—regardless of whether a woman has already received one dose of Tdap—is an off-label use of the vaccine.

FACT #3.According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) adequate testing has not been done in humans to demonstrate safety for pregnant women and it is not known whether the vaccines can cause fetal harm or affect reproduction capacity. The manufacturers of the Tdap vaccine state that human toxicity and fertility studies are inadequate and warn that Tdap should “be given to a pregnant woman only if clearly needed.”

FACT #4.Drug companies did not test the safety and effectiveness of giving Tdap vaccine to pregnant women before the vaccines were licensed in the U.S. and there is almost no data on inflammatory or other biological responses to this vaccine that could affect pregnancy and birth outcomes.

In late 2014, the Ministry of Health of Brazil announced the introduction of the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, and acellular pertussis) vaccine for all pregnant women in that country as part of its routine vaccination program. The move was aimed at trying to contain the resurgence of pertussis in Brazil.

In December 2015, the Brazilian government declared an emergency after 2,400 Brazilian babies were found to be born with shrunken heads (microcephaly) and damaged brains since October.

Brazilian public health officials don’t know what is causing the increase in microcephaly cases in babies born in Brazil, but they are theorizing that it may be caused by a virus known as “Zika,” which is spread by mosquitoes (Aedes aegypti)—in the same way as is the West Nile virus.

The theory is largely based on the fact that they found the Zika virus in a baby with microcephaly following an autopsy of the dead child. The virus was also found in the amniotic fluid of two mothers whose babies had the condition.

Note that Zika is not a new virus; it has been around for decades. No explanation has been given as to why suddenly it could be causing all these cases of microcephaly. No one is seriously asking the question, “What has changed?”

There is no theorizing about the possibility that the cases of microcephaly could be linked to the mandating of the Tdap vaccine for all pregnant women in Brazil about 10 months earlier. The government has “assumed” the cause is a virus.

FACT—Drug companies did not test the safety and effectiveness of giving Tdap vaccine to pregnant women before the vaccines were licensed in the U.S. and there is almost no data on inflammatory or other biological responses to this vaccine that could affect pregnancy and birth outcomes.

FACT—According to the U.S.

FACT—There are ingredients pertussis containing Tdap vaccine that have not been fully evaluated for potential genotoxic or other adverse effects on the human fetus developing in the womb that may negatively affect health after birth, including aluminum adjuvants, mercury containing (Thimerosal) preservatives and many more bioactive and potentially toxic ingredients.

FACT—There are serious problems with outdated testing procedures for determining the potency and toxicity of pertussis vaccines and some scientists are calling for limits to be established for specific toxin content of pertussis-containing vaccines.

FACT—There are no published biological mechanism studies that assess pre-vaccination health status and measure changes in brain and immune function and chromosomal integrity after vaccination of pregnant women or their babies developing in the womb.

FACT—Since licensure of Tdap vaccine in the U.S., there have been no well designed prospective case controlled studies comparing the health outcomes of large groups of women who get pertussis containing Tdap vaccine during pregnancy either separately or simultaneously compared to those who do not get the vaccines, and no similar health outcome comparisons of their newborns at birth or in the first year of life have been conducted. Safety and effectiveness evaluations that have been conducted are either small, retrospective, compare vaccinated women to vaccinated women or have been performed by drug company or government health officials using unpublished data.

FACT—The FDA has licensed Tdap vaccines to be given once as a single dose pertussis booster shot to individuals over 10 or 11 years old. The CDC’s recommendation that doctors give every pregnant woman a Tdap vaccination during every pregnancy—regardless of whether a woman has already received one dose of Tdap—is an off-label use of the vaccine.

FACT—Injuries and deaths from pertussis-containing vaccines are the most compensated claims in the federal Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP) and influenza vaccine injuries and deaths are the second most compensated claim.

FACT—A 2013 published study evaluating reports of acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM) following vaccination in the U. S. Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS) and in a European vaccine reaction reporting system found that pertussis containing DTaP was among the vaccines most frequently associated with brain inflammation in children between birth and age five.

Tdap is manufactured by two pharmaceutical companies: Sanofi Pasteur of France and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) of the United Kingdom.

The Sanofi Pasteur product contains aluminum phosphate, residual formaldehyde, residual glutaraldehyde, and 2-phenoxyethanola, along with the following growth mediums and process ingredients: Stainer-Scholte medium, casamino acids, dimethyl-beta-cyclodextrin, glutaraldehyde, formaldehyde, aluminum phosphate, modified Mueller-Miller casamino acid medium without beef heart infusion, ammonium sulfate, 2-phenoxyethanol, water for injection.

The GSK product contains aluminum hydroxide, sodium chloride, residual formaldehyde, polysorbate 80 (Tween 80), along with the following growth mediums and process ingredients: modified Latham medium derived from bovine casein, Fenton medium containing bovine extract, formaldehyde, Stainer-Scholte liquid medium, glutaraldehyde, aluminum hydroxide.

Unsurprisingly, the Brazilian government announced on January 15, 2016 it will direct funds to a biomedical research center (Sao Paulo-based Butantan Institute) to help develop a vaccine against Zika. Development of the vaccine is expected to take 3-5 years. Again, no consideration to the irony that you may be developing a vaccine to address a problem that may have been CAUSED by a vaccine, and that that new vaccine may COMPOUND the problem No consideration to the possibility that the answer to the problem may not be to do MORE, but rather to do LESS (simply STOP giving Tdcap to pregnant women).

The number of cases iof microcephaly in Brazil has grown to 3,530 babies, as of mid-January 2016. Fewer than 150 such cases were seen in all of 2014.

Most of the microcephaly cases have been concentrated in Brazil’s poor northeast, though cases in Rio de Janeiro and other big cities have also been on the rise, prompting people to stock up on mosquito repellent. Health officials are warning Brazilians—especially pregnant women—to stay inside when possible and wear plenty of bug spray if they have to go out.

Wanna look up the ingredients in mosquito spray? Oh, and what deadly insecticide do you reckon they’ll mass fumigate with? DDT perhaps?

There shouldnt be outrage and questions regarding the release of the multi millions of genetically modified (GM) Aedes aegypti mosquitoes in April and July 2015 in Brazil que created this outbreak and prior to que in Malaysia, and before que secretly in the Cayman Islands by the British company Oxitec for profit and on the NYSE who may very well be Responsible for this outbreak and its mutation. The GM Aedes aegypti mosquitoes was made with protein fragments inserted of E.coli, Herpes virus and cabbage. Male mosquitoes are not the only ones released and a small percentage of females are released too, the ones que can not be all separated. It’s unknown what a bite from a GM mosquitoes can do to humans because it’s all an experiment. Human consequências are completely unknown! Oxitec is funded by the Bill Gates Foundation on top of it. This is not a coincidence! These new Symptoms, Zika virus rare before the release of GM mosquitoes? Tetracycline invalidates Their dying and it can be gotten by mosquitoes from water and soil containing it. Oxitec in my opinion May Be Responsible for this and it’s ‘Crime Against Humanity.’ Now Oxitec wants to release more to conquer this outbreak Zika virus to make more money? this has not been tested on humans people! There is no way que this outbreak and epidemic in Brazil is coincidental.even more in the Brazilian Northeast where there is majority of cases, but this Brazilian region is known for severe drought centuries of the times of colonial Brazil and never had cases of this kind only after genetically modified mosquito infestation that was epidemic.virus has existed in africa decade and never had anencefalia cases caused by zika in Brazil e america central just after the mosquito transgenic where it was played that began to emerge https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nacrqgeSIdQ

Why are Nobel Prize winners getting older?

Out of the Nobel Prize winners that have been announced so far this year the average age is 72, but it was not always this way.

Professor

The 2016 Nobel laureates for physics, medicine and chemistry: all men, at least 65 years old and mostly over 72.

Go back to the first half of the 20th Century, however, and the average laureate was “only” 56. Physics laureates, now typically a group of men in their late-sixties, used to have an average age of 47.

In fact, in all of the traditional sciences there has been a significant trend of Nobel laureates winning prizes later in life, starting from around the 1950s and continuing into the present day.

Chart showing the increasing prize-winning age of Nobel laureates
Image captionThe trends in physics, medicine and chemistry are clear. You need to wait longer now to be recognised. But how does the analysis explain the declining age profile of peace prize winners?

You often hear stories that such and such a writer or philosopher from hundreds of years ago was the last person to have read every book.

Dubious though this may be, knowledge has certainly ballooned. Could there be so much information and theory today that scientific breakthroughs happen only in old age?

That is probably not the answer.

Gustav Källstrand, a senior curator at the Nobel Museum, told us that 100 years ago there were only around 1,000 physicists. Today there are an estimated one million in the world.

“So this is one important factor. The waiting time for getting a Nobel Prize is getting longer and you do not get a prize immediately after a breakthrough,” he said.

Even now scientists make discoveries early on in life, but with thousands of others doing the same, and with the Nobel Prize committee requiring such a high standard of validation, it can take many years to win an award.

But the question still niggles. There are also thousands more writers, economists and people working for peace than there were 100 years ago. Their ageing trends are quite different. And why is it that physics laureates are greying faster than their peers in medicine?

Map showing the leading Nobel Prize countries

It could all come down to the scientific revolution in the early 20th Century, brought on by the burgeoning field of quantum mechanics.

Mr Källstrand notes that “physics in the first half of the century was a rapidly growing field; many physicists were young and they were making discoveries quickly.”

And the Nobel committee knew it.

“The committee were on to this. It was a field they were interested in and they were recognising achievements fast,” he said.

Werner Heisenberg (later the inspiration for an alias in Breaking Bad) and Paul Dirac were only 31 when they became Nobel laureates in physics in the 1930s, both for work on quantum mechanics.

It was like discovering a new toolkit which could quickly yield discoveries. Or, less charitably, as one scientist said: “mediocre physicists could discover great physics”.

As for why Peace Prize laureates are bucking the trend of ageing, Mr Källstrand says the prize is now very different.

“The peace prize committee try to be more up to date. They don’t wait to see if peace measures will succeed completely, or if, say, democracy will last in Indonesia.”

The slowest revolution

Despite all of the changes in science and humanitarian work, there is one thing you can rely on: Nobel laureates will be overwhelmingly male.

As the booming scientific population keeps would-be laureates waiting years for prizes, it also means the currently lopsided male to female ratio reflects how the world looked decades ago.

Chart showing the ration of male to femal Nobel Prize laureates

Men are still vastly overrepresented in science, but as diversity improves and the backlog for prizes clears, equal representation may eventually become a reality.

The Nobel Museum assured us that while there are no records of the panel intentionally overlooking work from women, there is one story of them bending the rules.

When in 1903 Marie Curie was not nominated for the Nobel Prize, her husband and joint researcher in radiation protested and refused to accept an award. On a technicality, the panel went on to accept her late submission from 1902 and she became the first woman to win a Nobel Prize.

Scientists Have Finally Discovered Why Consuming Red Meat Causes Cancer

Until recently, the reason WHY red meat causes cancer hasn’t been understood. But this breakthrough changes everything…

Many people grew up being urged to eat pork, beef, and dairy products for their health, but in recent years have received advice to cut back on animal products especially red meat.

scientists-have-finally-discovered-why-consuming-red-meat-causes-cancer

According to a number of studies, the consumption of red meat is linked with increased risk for cancer(s), atherosclerosis (heart disease), stroke, Alzheimer’s, and even Type II Diabetes…  But until now, researchers have not exactly understood why.

As The Telegraph reports, scientists from the University of California in San Diego believe it mainly has to do with sugar.

While humans, as omnivores, can tolerate eating meat (and have been doing so for many years, but not in the quantity witnessed today) there is unique sugar named Neu5Gc, found in most mammals but not in humans, that triggers an immune response which causes inflammation.

Mice were used for the study which found that all the evidence linking Neu5Gc to cancer was circumstantial or indirectly predicted from experimental setups. According to the scientists, this is the first time they mimicked the exact situation in humans through feeding non-human Neu5Gc and inducing anti-Neu5Gc antibodies. This increased spontaneous cancer in mice.

This sugar can be found in red meats (pork, beef, and other livestock), cow’s milk and certain cheeses. Because the human body is not capable of producing this sugar naturally when the sugar is absorbed into the tissues, it is perceived as a foreign invader and activates the immune system. It is suspected that over time, the chronic inflammation caused by the immune system response plays a role in the development of cancer.

Thankfully, great alternative foods exist to satiate your desire for a juicy hamburger. For example, the ‘Impossible Burger’ is renowned as one of the best ‘veggie burgers’ available, and there are great ways to make your own plant-based burgers at home.

In conclusion, it seems clear that those who limit their intake of red meats are assured a healthier – and less inflamed – life.

Statins DON’T Lower Cholesterol but INCREASE Cancer and Memory Loss Risk

Heart disease is one of the leading causes of death in the United States, with approximately 610,000 Americans dying from it every year. It has become a popular theory that high cholesterol levels can have a negative impact on your heart health, so, in order to combat this, many people turn towards cholesterol-lowering drugs to lower their risk of heart disease.

However, it turns out that one of America’s most popular cholesterol lowering drugs, called statins, is not only ineffective at lowering cholesterol, but it also causes a variety of unpleasant side effects and has even been linked to cancer.

What Are Statins?

statin-side-effects

Statins are a widely prescribed drug that is used to lower LDL, or “bad” cholesterol, which is a major contributor to heart disease. Despite the fact that their main purpose is to lower levels of LDL cholesterol, many studies have found statins to be ineffective at doing this.

One study published in the journal Vascular Health and Risk Management found that statins were incredibly ineffective at lowering cholesterol levels in patients with heart disease. Researchers found that statins only reduced cholesterol levels to the desired amount in 18% of the patients that were given them, showing that they are ineffective more than 80% of the time.

Aside from them being ineffective at lowering cholesterol, they also cause a variety of unpleasant and even harmful side effects. Some of these include:

  • Rash
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhhea
  • Drowsiness
  • Memory loss
  • High blood sugar
  • Increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes

Statins are also associated with more serious side effects such as myositis and rhabdomyolysis, which are conditions that cause inflammation of the muscles and can lead to serious muscle damage. Rhabdomyolysis can also cause damage to the kidneys which can result in kidney failure or even death.

Several studies have also associated taking statins with a higher risk of cancer. One study published in the journal Current Oncology found that statins increased the risk of cancer in the elderly and in people with prostate or breast cancer. Researchers also found that statins caused tumor progression in people with bladder cancer.

The connection between statins and cancer is said to stem from the way that statins effect the body’s immune system. Researchers believe that, since statins increase the body’s production of T cells (white blood cells that fight off infection) it weakens other immune responses in the body, leaving it more susceptible to developing cancer.

Cholesterol and the Body

The use of statins and other drugs became popular mainly due to the mainstream conception of cholesterol and the effect that it has on the human body. Many people fasley believe that cholesterol on its own is responsible for the clogging of the arteries that leads to heart disease. Dr. Beverly Teter, a lipid biochemist at the University of Maryland, says that this is due to a mistake scientists many years ago.

Teter believe that cholesterol was wrongly blamed for heart disease when scientists noticed high levels of cholesterol in a damaged blood vessel. She believes that cholesterol was put there to fix a problem that was actually caused by inflammation.

“It’s the inflammation in the vessels that start the lesion,” she said. “The body then sends the cholesterol like a scab to cover over it to protect the blood system and the vessel wall from further damage.”

Teter suggests, in order to prevent heart disease, to not choose foods that are low in fat, but instead to choose foods that are high in anti-inflammatories. These include sources of omega-3 fatty acids and natural saturated fats. She also suggests avoiding sources of inflammation-causing trans fat.

Foods that are high in inflammation-busting properties include:

  • Flaxseed oil
  • Walnuts

  • Wild salmon
  • Edamame
  • Eggs
  • Pecans
  • Hickory nuts

Make sure to eat all of the foods mentioned above, while avoiding these inflammation-causing ones:

  • Deep-fried foods
  • Pie crust
  • Margarine
  • Cake frosting
  • Coffee creamer
  • Crackers

In order to avoid inflammation-causing trans fats, make sure to not eat any deep fried or heavily processed foods. Not only do these foods cause inflammation, but they boost your bad cholesterol levels as well, leading to a combination that is sure to cause heart disease.

NASA Confirms: People Are Capable Of Super Human Abilities Using These Ancient Techniques!

Ever wanted to be in more than one place at a time? That’s right, I’m talking about the super-human abilities that can be gained by those who follow the protocol for what’s known as sun-gazing, a valid practice recently confirmed by NASA. Many proponents of this ancient technique, used by many cultures such as Mayan, Egyptian, Aztec, Tibetian and Indian yoga, report not only healing benefits to common illnesses, but obtaining super-human abilities such as advanced telepathy and going completely without the need for food.

Nikola Tesla quoted:

“My idea is that the development of life must lead to forms of existence that will be possible without nourishment and which will not be shackled by consequent limitations. Why should a living being not be able to obtain all the energy it needs for the performance of its life functions from the environment, instead of through consumption of food, and transforming, by a complicated process, the energy of chemical combinations into life-sustaining energy?”

WHAT IS SUN GAZING?

Sun gazing (also known as sun-eating) is a strict practice of gradually introducing sunlight into your eyes at the lowest ultraviolet-index times of day – sunrise and sunset.  Those who teach the practice say there are several rules to the practice. First, it must be done within the hour after sunrise or before sunset to avoid damaging the eyes. Second, you must be barefoot, in contact with the actual earth – sand, dirt or mud; and finally, you must begin with only 10 seconds the first day, increasing by 10 second intervals each day you practice. Following these rules make the practice safe, says sources.

Nikolai Dolgoruky of the Ukraine calls himself a ‘sun-eater’. He has been practicing sun gazing for the past 12 years and has largely subsisted off solar energy since he began. Others have reported losing the need for food after only 9 months of sun gazing (by which time the practitioner has worked up to a maximum of 44 minutes). After 9 months of practice, you need only walk barefoot on the earth for 45 minutes per day, 6 days in a row to further the process of what has been initiated by sun gazing.

Sun-gazing is a practice also called the HRM phenomenom, coined as such after Hira Ratan Manek, the man who submitted himself to NASA for scientific testing to confirm that he does indeed possess the almost ‘super-human’ ability of not eating, gained through his dedication to this interesting marvel. Funded by NASA, a team of medical doctors at the University of Pennsylvania observed Hira 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for 100 days. NASA confirmed that he was indeed able to survive largely on light with occasionally a small amount of buttermilk or water during this time.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE BODY DURING SUN GAZING?

During your first 3 months of practice, the suns energy is moving through the eyes and charging the hypothalamus tract, says those who have studied this technique and used it. The hypothalamus tract is the pathway to the rear of the retina which leads to the brain. The brain then, over time, becomes activated by the energy supply being received by the sun. You will first experience a relief of mental tension and worry, since most worry is fueled by the energy received by the foods we eat. Since food gets it’s energy from the sun, it is said to be readily available to sun-eaters without the trouble of digestion. Though hunger is said to eventually cease, it is fine to continue eating regularly during initial stages, until appetite disappears naturally.

Another benefit early on is said to be an increase in confidence and an ability to easily solve your problems, as you are without tension. Everyone has at least a bit of psychosis, but during the first few months of sun gazing practice, it is reported that these attitudes go away and a positive nature gracefully replaces the old persona full of fears. By the end of 3 months, the gazing time will have increased to 15 minutes per day.

Reports on sun gazing say that the bad qualities normally associated with any person will gradually disappear and good qualities will remain, explaining that ‘bad qualities’ only develop in the absence of sunlight. Bad qualities like anger, fear, jealousy, lust – are said to disappear – and be replaced by a certain confidence and ‘spiritual knowing’ that senses more purely the heart of an issue.

At 3-6 months of gazing, the studies show that physical diseases start to disappear. They say that by the time one is gazing 30 minutes per day (building up 10 seconds per day) all the colors of the sun will have reached the brain. Color therapists attribute their healing of certain diseases to flooding the body and brain with the particular color that is lacking – depending on the ailment. For example, in liver disease, the color green is deficient. The kidneys need red, and the heart, yellow. All of the organs and all of the systems are said to respond to different colors of the rainbow, which is why it is also recommended to eat a diet rich in a variety of colors. It is recommended during the 3-4 month period that you use autosuggestion to see your body already healed of any perceived weakness or disease. This action will facilitate the process of returning to wholeness.

As you continue the process, it is reported that after 6 months, the energy stored from the technique is no longer being used for repairing the body or the mind and can move now into supporting you in gaining more super-human abilities.

WHAT’S BEYOND HEALING?

By seven and a half months of gazing, now at 35 minutes, need and desire for food is dwindling. According to sun gazing experts, food is not actually needed to maintain the body, only energy – and ‘sun-eating’ provides that energy. By 9 months, all taste for food, including aroma, all hunger pains and cravings disappear. Those who make it this far say that they report a noticeable ‘change’ in the way their brain feels – like it’s “charged up.” After 9 months of sun-gazing – reaching a maximum of 44 minutes – it is advised that you give up sun-gazing and redirect your attention now to the Earth.

For 6 days straight, one is to walk barefoot on the earth, 45 minutes per day. During this barefoot walking, the pineal gland is said to become activated. Professional sun gazers and those researching the science say that each toe is connected to a specific gland, and by walking barefoot on the Earth, you activate these glands. The big toe is thought to be aligned with the pineal gland, the second toe with the pituitary, then the hypothalamus, thalamus and finally the pinky toe correlates to the amygdala. Walking barefoot, with the sun now falling on the top of your head, practitioners claim to create a sort of magnetic field in and around your body that recharges you and your brain.

Apparently this walking barefoot part is the most important aspect of the practice. As you continue walking on the Earth, this is when the magic really begins. The pineal gland is activated more and more by this walking procedure. Intellect is said to increase, along with memory. The pineal gland has navigational and psychic capabilities, meaning telepathy, the possibility of flight… now we are getting somewhere! Have you ever thought you would like to have your body in more than one place at a time? Well, sun-gazing is said to be the magical key to such abilities.

If you can barefoot walk 45 minutes every day for a year – you are golden. At that point, only a maintenance of 3-4 days a week is necessary to maintain the capabilities you have acquired.

ARE THERE ANY DANGERS?

Doctors and  eye care professionals caution against looking directly at the sun, saying that it will damage the retina. However, if done correctly, sun-gazing at the correct times of day, studies show there is no risk of damaging the eyes. Those who have been sun gazing for many years have had their eyes checked to show no damage, though it is advised that you have your eyes checked in the first few weeks of your practice, so you can know for yourself.

TO SUM IT ALL UP…

Remember, it’s 10 seconds the first day, at sunrise or sunset, adding 10 seconds per day each day there after. After 90 days of accumulative gazing equaling 44 minutes, you cease the gazing and start the barefoot walking 45 minutes per day for 6 days. At this point, I could imagine, hey – if you made it this far, what’s a year of barefoot walking an hour per day to keep it all? You will have to try it out and see for yourself.

If you are really interested in gaining super-human abilities, confirmed by reputable organizations like NASA, as the ones mentioned above, sun gazing sounds like a fairly straightforward path to enlightenment!

Elon Musk: These Are the 5 Most Important Problems We Need to Solve

IN BRIEF

In a new interview, Elon Musk identifies genetics, AI, and brain bandwidth as three areas in which today’s youth can have the biggest impact on the future. However, he doesn’t think an idea needs to be revolutionary to be worthwhile.

IF ELON MUSK CAN DO IT…

While many 2o-something-year-olds are just finding their way in the world, young Elon Musk was already looking for ways to change it way back in 1995 (when he was that age).

In a well-known 2015 discussion with Neil deGrasse Tyson for the physicist’s StarTalk Radio podcast, Musk lists the five things he thought would most affect the future of humanity (the internet, sustainable energy, space exploration, artificial intelligence, and rewriting human genetics).

Just 25 years later, and he has already impacted three of the five areas he identified way back in the nineties. To that end, in the below video, he dives into the largest problems that we need to tackle today, and which could have the biggest impact on the future.

SO CAN YOU!

As part of an interview with Y Combinator for its “How to Build the Future” series, Musk was asked to reflect on that same concept — the things that could have the biggest impact on the future — so that today’s young people can think about how to innovate in those fields.

While Musk identifies such high-concept, high-tech areas as genetic reprograming, increasing the bandwidth interface of the brain, and artificial intelligence as being ripe for innovation, he encourages today’s youth to think both big and small.

“Even if you don’t have a revolutionary idea, that doesn’t mean your contribution to society can’t be worthwhile,” Musk asserts in the interview.

“I think if somebody is doing something that is useful to the rest of society, I think that’s a good thing. Like, it doesn’t have to change the world,” he tells the interviewer. “If it has a small amount of good for a large number of people, I think that’s fine. Stuff doesn’t need to change the world just to be good.”

So whether you’re thinking up a new Instagram filter or trying to find a cure for Alzheimer’s, know that Elon Musk has your back.
