7 Signs The Universe Is Trying To Show You Something Through Synchronicity.

Synchronicity is a term coined by famous psychologist, Carl Jung.  It is the appearance of “meaningful coincidences” in your life that are unlikely, ironic and sometimes very helpful.  This phenomenon is a “wink” from the universe, a sign of your intuition and connectedness.  If you’ve been experiencing synchronicity, you’ve been in the right place, at the right time.

Though some would say the probability of one of these events is very low, for many people synchronicity happens all of the time.  It is a magical phenomenon that lets us know we are open to spiritual guidance and on the right path.

Carl Jung – Synchronicity

So, are you experiencing synchronicity? Here are a few common examples that may have happened in your life:

1. Running into someone you were just thinking about, or receiving a phone call, text message or email from him/her.

2. Randomly coming across a product that solves a problem you’ve been having, even though you weren’t looking for it.  Suddenly, an ad on TV or an item on the store shelf jumps out at you as if to say “Here! This is exactly what you need!”

3. Watching a movie or television show that has a story line mirroring your own current issues in life.

4. Hearing a couple of strangers out in public discussing something you’ve been thinking about in your own life.

5. Meeting a person who is able to assist you through a current challenge, randomly, as if they’ve been delivered directly to you to help.

6.  Getting a reassuring message out of the blue, but at the right time.  During a moment when you could use an emotional lift, perhaps your child suddenly turns to you and says “I love you.” You might also open your email or mailbox and find a kind and uplifting message written by a friend or relative.

7. Amazing timing.  One thing after another is delivered at exactly the right time.  Everything lines up perfectly.

Though these are just a handful of examples, synchronicity can happen in many areas of your life.  Have you experienced any of these synchronicities? Do you have examples of other synchronicities?  Comment below and let me know.

20 Profound Quotes By Carl Jung That Will Help You To Better Understand Yourself.

One of the things I love about Carl Jung is the fact that he was a deep philosophical thinker who examined all aspects of the self when writing about the human experience. As you will see in the quotes below, Jung was clear on the notion that we are spiritual beings, and that having a spiritual relationship with oneself truly helps us to understand the deeper aspects of who we are.

To some, this idea translates to religion — to finding solace in the existence of something greater than yourself — but I believe this to be a fickle form of spirituality, and one that does not truly help a person get to the core of who they are (or, alternatively, who they are not).

According to www.cgjungpage.org: “Carl Jung was one of the creators of modern depth psychology, which seeks to facilitate a conversation with the unconscious energies which move through each of us. He contributed many ideas which continue to inform contemporary life: complex, archetype, persona, shadow, anima and animus, personality typology, dream interpretation, individuation, and many other ideas. He had a deep appreciation of our creative life and considered spirituality a central part of the human journey.”

This summation of his life and work connects deeply to what Collective Evolution is all about, and shares much in common with what inspired me to create this platform in the first place. In putting together the quotes in this article, I gained an even deeper appreciation for Jung and his work, as I uncovered the conscious themes that were apparent throughout his teachings. He was clearly a deep thinker with an intimate knowledge of his inner being.

Jung also had an appreciation for astrology which, over the past few years, I’ve begun to understand more and more and see profound value in. I’m not talking about opening your daily paper and reading your generalize horoscope, however, but true astrology. Something many of us have never been properly exposed to and thus don’t understand the real meaning of   or value. (Maybe we’ll have to make a short documentary on this one day!)

But enough on my own musings — onto the quotes! Here are 20 from Jung that I feel not only serve as an accurate representation of his work, but also provide much to reflect on.

Iconic Psychiatrist Carl Jung on Human Personality in Rare BBC Interview.

Legendary Swiss psychiatrist Carl Gustav Jung (July 26, 1875–June 6, 1961), along with his frenemy Freud, is considered the founding father of modern analytical psychology. He coined the concepts of collective consciousness and introverted vs. extroverted personality, providing the foundation for the popular Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. Though famously accused of having lost his soul, Jung had a much more heartening view of human nature than Freud and memorably wrote that “the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light in the darkness of mere being.” On October 22 of 1959, BBC’s Face to Face — an unusual series of pointed, almost interrogative interviews seeking to “unmask public figures” — aired a segment on Jung, included in the 1977 anthology C.G. Jung Speaking: Interviews and Encounters (public library). Eighty-four at the time and still working, he talks to New Statesman editor John Freeman about education, religion, consciousness, human nature, and his temperamental differences with Freud, which sparked his study of personality types. Transcript highlights below.

Echoing Anaïs Nin’s meditation on the fluid self from a decade earlier, Jung confirms that fixed personality is a myth:

Psychological type is nothing static — it changes in the course of life.

He advocates for psychology as the most potent tool for understanding human nature and thus saving humanity from itself:

We need more understanding of human nature, because the only danger that exists is man himself — he is the great danger, and we are pitifully unaware of it. We know nothing of man — far too little.

But perhaps most timeless and timely of all is the interview’s concluding question, the answer to which arrives at the same conclusion that Viktor Frankl famously did:

FREEMAN: As the world becomes more technically efficient, it seems increasingly necessary for people to behave communally and collectively, now do you think it’s possible that the highest development of man may be to submerge his own individuality in a kind of collective consciousness?

JUNG: That’s hardly possible. I think there will be a reaction — a reaction will set in against this communal dissociation. You know, man doesn’t stand forever, his nullification. Once, there will be a reaction, and I see it setting in, you know, when I think of my patients, they all seek their own existence and to assure their existence against that complete atomization into nothingness or into meaninglessness. Man cannot stand a meaningless life.

This interview, writes editor R. F. C. Hull in C.G. Jung Speaking, “undoubtedly brought Jung to more people than any other piece of journalism and any of Jung’s own writings.” Complement it with Jung’s fantastic catalog of the unconscious, The Book of Symbols, and his timelessly captivating Memories, Dreams, Reflection.

The 11 Step Guide to Spreading Love.

There is nothing like the vibration of LOVE. It makes us feel good and it makes others feel good.  Couple it with the frequency of gratitude and you have a winning formula for life!

The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed. ~Carl Jung

What can you do to start smearing love all over this planet?  Well, it only takes one tiny act to begin the snowball of heart-felt love.  Why not try a few of these ideas to open up your heart space and allow others to experience what true unconditional love feels like.

1. Be Kind

Do random acts of genuine kindness.  You can smile more when you walk down the street, open doors for strangers (even women can open doors for men — ladies can be gentlemen too!), give a genuine compliment.  I’ll leave the rest up to your spontaneity and imagination.

2. Spread Love Like Butter!

Illustrate love whenever you can.  This can be in the form of a silent blessing or a simple touch to show you care.  You can just be present and truly listen to someone without the need to speak — this is an incredibly loving and somewhat overlooked gesture. When you do speak, let your words melt upon listening ears and drip with tender, loving gentleness.

3. Be the Mirror

Try to notice yourself in others and aim to perceive that we are all a part of God.  Send love to everyone, especially those who irritate, provoke or scare you.  Feed people with fear and they will become fearsome, feed them with love and they will become loving.

4. Extend Yourself

See your brothers and sisters all over the world as your extended family.  We all intrinsically have one ultimate goal — to live in joy, love and peace.  Some have a strange way of showing it but they may be so lost in darkness that they have forgotten what radiance looks like.  It is up to you to show them the light instead of judging or criticizing their path.   Love is going to be the only solution to hatred, war and destruction, not complaints and judgments.

5. Love all Life

Express acts of love and kindness to animals, plants and insects too, we are their guardians.  All life has the signature of our creator embedded in their fabric.  Remember this when you feel the urge to destroy something willy-nilly.  Ask yourself if it is necessary?  Your awareness is the key to unlocking your heart centre.

6. Offer Acknowledgement

Recognise others by saying ‘hello’ or dishing out your most debonair greeting smile.  People love to be acknowledged and this can have a profound effect on their day and all the other people they interact with from thereon out.

7. Just Plain Give

Practice giving without the need for receiving.  You don’t have to spend a lot of money to give.  Giving could be in the form of a poem, a prayer, a generous and thoughtful act, a bunch of wild flowers, the giving of your attention or time.

8. The Gratitude Train

Give thanks for all the things that are going right in your life.  We so often harp on the things that are going wrong for us.  We take too little time bringing into our awareness all that is marvelous — like the roof over your head, the warm and comfortable bed you sleep in to the fridge full of groceries you may have.  These simple things are luxury items to others and the more you are grateful for your blessings, the more blessings you will receive to continue your vibration of gratitude.  This is how the universe works.

9. See Your Lessons

Give thanks for all the mistakes you have made in your life that taught you valuable lessons.  The strong and capable person you are today has arisen from the ashes of what went wrong yesterday.  Be the phoenix and always gracefully emerge from the flames with your head held high and a fire of passion in your heart.

10. Hug Thy Neighbour!

Give away free hugs whenever you see the opportunity.  Humans are tactile beings (well, at least some of us anyway) and the value of appropriate physical contact can be just what someone may need from you.

11. Appreciate Love in Return

Always let the special people in your life know that they are appreciated.  It is sad that the ones closest to our hearts can be the ones that are the most neglected.  Remember to hug, kiss and verbalize your love every morning (or whenever you see them).  Yes, that means no grunting on the way to the coffee machine, you need to pick up your sleepy head and plant one on their cheek (provided you have remembered to brush those teeth first)!

Now is as good a time as any to get out there and extend your lovable self to others.  Why don’t you share with us any ideas and remedies you have come up with to infect this planet with love.
