Eyeliner In Your Inner Eyelid Increases Risk Of Vision Problems .

For the first time, scientists have studied the effects of applying eyeliner to your inner eyelid, or ‘waterline’, to find that your risk of contamination, eye infections, and blurred vision is a whole lot higher than if you choose to apply it to your outer eyelids.

The researchers, led by Alison Ng from the Centre for Contact Lens Research at the University of Waterloo in Canada, followed the movement of eyeliner particles for two hours after application, and report that when drawn into the waterline, these particles more readily contaminate and alter the tear film of the eye – the thin layer of liquid that wards off foreign contaminants. If left unchecked, contamination can lead to discomfort and disease, particularly in those who wear contact lenses, or those with chronically dry and sensitive eyes.

“We noticed that the makeup migration happened quicker and was greater when eyeliner was put on the inner lid margin,” Ng said in a press release.

The pilot study was carried out with three volunteers who were tested after using both the outer and inner eyelid techniques. They used pencil eyeliner infused with glitter to make the movement of the particles easier to detect. According to the paper published in the journal Eye & Contact Lens, the team used a slit lamp video recorder to track the particles as they became suspended in the tear film and moved about the eye over a two-hour period.

They found that within five minutes of application, up to 30 percent more foreign particles had made their way into the tear film when eyeliner was applied to the inner eyelid, and they moved much faster than the particles from the outer eyelid application. And once they’re in your eye, these particles, which are made up of various waxes, oils, silicons and gums that are designed to make your eyeliner stay put, are very tricky for the eye’s natural cleaning process to remove. After two hours, the team found that the particles had disappeared from the tear film, which suggests that they had migrated elsewhere internally or had been cleared out of the eye.

“People who wear contact lenses are most likely to notice some problems,” said Ng. “If they have eyeliner stuck to their lenses, increasing deposits might cause vision disruption as the lens becomes cloudier.”

Now, there are a whole lot of limitations to this study: they only included three participants; they used glitter eyeliner rather than solid coloured eyeliner, but say they’d expected similar results; and they didn’t track the transfer of bacteria from the eyeliner to the eye. This is important, because it’s well-known that the older an article of make-up is, the more bacteria it could harbour. So while it might not be cause to stop lining your inner eyelid straight away – let’s face it, it looks really pretty – it’s motivation to take steps to make it safer for your long-term eye health.

“If you thoroughly sharpen your pencil eyeliner before each application and get rid of the stuff that’s stuck to the end, you’ll have a fresh tip which can help prevent infection,” said Ng. “With twist-up eyeliner, cut some off the end before each use. And always make sure to fully remove eye makeup before bed.”

The Drugless Doctor Instatip: Chlorine—Bromine—Fluorine Compromise Function .

There is a group of elements called halides; bromine, fluorine, chlorine and iodine are in the halide family. Iodine is very important for optimal thyroid, breast, ovary and prostate function. We have noticed more practice members arriving in our office today with subpar thyroid function. If you swim in a pool with bromine of chlorine, drink water which has not been purified and or use fluorine in your toothpaste or dental treatment you would be wise to have your iodine level tested and or for sure consider an iodine supplement. I generally suggest someone start real slow with iodine; taking five or six milligrams a day for a few weeks is a good start. Adding iodine to your routine to quickly especially if you have been exposed to the other halides may cause some collateral distress. Iodine supplementation will promote the release of bromine, fluorine and chlorine which has body signals including itchy skin, digestive distress and even hives. www.druglessdoctor.com or www.druglessdrs.com

Being Drunk And Falling In Love Are The Same Thing .

Why Is This Important?

Because it seems that being drunk on love is actually a thing.

Long Story Short

A new study has confirmed that alcohol shares significant characteristics with oxytocin, the hormone known to play a role in pair bonding and feelings of intimacy.

Long Story

How many pop songs contain the word ‘love’ and allude to it being some sort of incredible new high? Well, there could be some truth to that, as scientists have confirmed that the love hormone oxytocin has the same effect on you as alcohol does.

The study, conducted at the University of Birmingham and recently published in the journal Neuroscience and Biobehavioral Reviews discovered that while they target different receptors in the brain, oxytocin and alcohol trigger a parallel response in our brain structure, specifically when it comes to how we deal with stress and anxiety.

The University of Birmingham School of Psychology’s Dr. Ian Mitchell says that both chemicals produce similar reactions on our GABA—gamma-Aminobutyric acid— neurotransmitters, which are the circuits in our prefrontal cortex responsible for controlling our levels of stress, fear and courage.

Dating & Sex: Being Drunk And Falling In Love Are The Same Thing

The result is that while under the influence of either alcohol or oxytocin we tend to become more generous, more trusting, more empathetic and more relaxed. That’s why when you find yourself three sheets to the wind, you always want to tell people “the truth” and reveal more personal information to them.

Both alcohol and oxytocin also reduce fear and anxiety, which means that while we feel great when we’re high on either of them, we’re also more likely to make decisions that we’ll regret later.

In any case, it seems that the next time you need some Dutch courage before a big presentation or a job interview, instead of reaching for the hip flask, consider having a cheeky fool around with your partner instead.

Bionic Contacts: Goodbye Glasses. Hello Vision That’s 3x Better Than 20/20

eye

Most of us take our vision for granted. As a result, we take the ability to read, write, drive, and complete a multitude of other tasks for granted. However, unfortunately, sight is not so easy for everyone. Indeed, for many people simply seeing is a struggle.

There are more than 285 million people worldwide who have vision problems. According to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, nearly 22 million Americans who are over age 40 have cataracts (the most common cause of vision loss in adults). By the time that they reach 80, more than half of all Americans will have cataracts, and severe vision problems as a result.

But now, people with vision problems may have new hope.

Soon, cataracts may be the thing of the past, and even better, it may be possible to see a staggering three times better than 20/20 vision. Oh, and you could do it all without wearing glasses or contacts. But what does having 3x better vision mean? If you can currently read a text that is 10 feet away, you would be able to read the same text from 30 feet away. What’s more, people who currently can’t see properly might be able to see a lot better than average.

This new development comes thanks to a new kind of bionic lens, the Ocumetics Bionic Lens. The lens is implanted in the eye via a saline-filled syringe that would place the bionic lens into the eye, where it would unravel itself in under 10 seconds. It sounds a little painful, but Dr. Garth Webb, an optometrist in British Columbia who invented the Ocumetics Bionic Lens, says that the procedure is identical to cataract surgery and would take just about eight minutes.

He adds that people who have the specialized lenses surgically inserted would never get cataracts and that the lens feels natural and won’t cause headaches or eyestrain.

However, if it sounds like a fairy tale (or Sci-Fi dream) it’s not. It is actually the end result of years and years of research and more than a little funding. Ultimately, the lens has taken nearly a decade to develop and has cost US$3 million (thus far). And there is still some ways to go before you will be able to buy them. The release date has been set for 2017, after extensive clinical trials have been completed on, first, animals and then humans.

New study suggests taking paracetamol while pregnant affects male babies .

According to new research, taking paracetamol regularly for several days at a time while pregnant could contribute to reproductive disorders in male babies.

The common painkiller is generally considered the safest option for pregnant women, but the new results suggest that a week of regular paracetamol use could reduce testosterone production in developing testes by 45 percent.

“This study adds to existing evidence that prolonged use of paracetamol in pregnancy may increase the risk of reproductive disorders in male babies,” Rod Mitchell, an endocrinologist from the University of Edinburgh in the UK, said in a press release. “We would advise that pregnant women should follow current guidance that the painkiller be taken at the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible time.”

Continuous testosterone production is crucial for the healthy development of the male reproductive organs, and previous research has found a link between reduced testosterone exposure in utero and reproductive disorders such as infertility, testicular cancer and undescended testicles.

In order to work out how paracetamol affects reproductive development, the team studied mice that had foetal human testicular tissue grafted onto them – these grafts have previously been shown to mimic the developing testes of unborn baby boys. The researchers gave the mice three doses of paracetamol a day for either 24 hours or seven days.

The mice that were given the paracetamol for just one day showed no effects, but the mice that were given the painkiller for a week had testosterone production in their testes grafts reduced by 45 percent. The results have been published in the journal Science Translational Medicine

This research is obviously limited, because it was conducted on an animal model and doesn’t reflect the true environment of a human embryo. But a Danish study in 2010 also found a link between undescended testicles in male babies and painkiller use during pregnancy after looking at the babies of more than 2,000 pregnant women, so there’s enough evidence to warrant further investigation.

Of course, that doesn’t mean pregnant women should never take painkillers. In fact, there are times when taking paracetamol can be the best option for the baby.

“The study specifically relates to paracetamol use over at least several days,” Martin Ward-Platt, a spokesperson for the Royal College of Paediatrics and child Health in the UK, who wasn’t involved in the study, told the BBC. “Fever during pregnancy can be harmful to the developing embryo, with links to a significant increase in the rates of spina bifida and heart malformations, so small doses of paracetamol are sometimes necessary.”

The researchers are now looking into the exact duration and amount of paracetamol that triggers this testosterone drop in the developing testes, in order to provide safer and clearer guidelines for mothers in future.

Medicine has no answer: more than 3500 severely ill patients recovered all by themselves

vodopad kravice

Brain tumour, blindness, chronic illnesses, parasites gone overnight.

It is not a fairy tale, but information from the Institute for noetic science, which has gathered over 3500 medical records of people whose illnesses, some of them in the terminal stage, withdrew on their own.

The conventional medicine has no explanation for this phenomenon called “spontaneous remission”.

How is it possible for an inoperable tumour to simply disappear from the body?

How can a person who until yesterday couldn’t hold a spoon today be making lunch for her family and drive kids to school?

Alternative doctors may offer some insight. They claim the answer is clear.
he power of positive thinking or the so-called placebo-effect knows no bounds and it accomplishes what is unimaginable for many – defeats even the most severe of illnesses.

The medications it uses are love, gratitude and joy, or satisfaction. These feelings, say the alternative doctors, act as private defenders of mental, and later of physical health too.

The worst man’s enemy – stress

According to studies carried out so far, about 90 percent of all human illnesses are caused by stress. The genes, environment, bad life and dieting habits account for but a minority.

Stress enters a person’s life gradually: the burden of everyday life, professional obligations, worrying about health and safety sometimes exert a chronic psychological pressure a person is not even aware of.

The body does not distinguish between real and false fears. It only knows fear and worry whether real or related to possible future events.

In such a condition, the autonomous nervous system always acts as a protection by activating to resolve a threat.

The adrenaline and cortisol which are secreted during that time accelerate the heart rate, blood pressure, breathing and muscular functioning. At the same time, the digestive and the reproductive systems are put “on hold”.

In case the threat is false, or when the cause of the stress is worry or fear, when you cannot escape it by jumping over the fence or by bringing it down with a wrestling grip, then all of that enormous energy is wasted.

Day after day, such a condition exhausts the organism and causes early problems: inflammatory processes, weakened immunity and chronic illnesses, because the body and mind cannot recover in time.

Without rest, peace and the time for oneself, the body is in the state of permanent exhaustion which leads to serious medical conditions.

Medications – love, gratitude and joy

Hay can a simple gesture of gratitude be of help? Simply, as is proven by medical phenomena – people who rejected drugs, surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and other conventional treatment methods.

They have proven that the placebo effect, gratitude and joy cancel out the effects of the stress on the organism.

They stimulate the formation of protective antibodies, strengthen immunity and alleviate inflammation helping the body to win the battle against the causes of the illness.

They recreate the reserves that have been exhausted, providing the body, mind and spirit with a new strength.

They act naturally as a prevention and therapy at the same time.

You can accumulate these natural medications, free and available to anybody, without fear and harm for the organism, because they can only help. To you and to others.

They are several ways of stimulating their production, if you don’t have enough of them.

Dr. Cynthia Thalk, cardiologist, says love has been proved to have effect on the heart.

”Every thought and every emotion makes hundreds and thousands of new neuropeptides and hormones which create a special symphony of positive or negative effects on the human organism”, she says, adding that strengthening empathy and love has a strong impact on the treatment of cardiovascular illnesses.

Humour is another powerful defensive mechanism of the organism – it is stronger than fear and despair, it relaxes muscles and relieves the pain.

The science certifies that the laughter “confuses” the receptors responsible for the perception of pain, making you feel it in a milder form.

At the same time, laughter and joy stimulate the renewal of immunity and strengthen self-confidence.
Alternative medicine also recommends meditation, which releases tension, activates the part of the brain responsible for happiness and positivity, supplies the brain with more blood and enhances the prana.

Some naturopaths claim that it is possible to use the willpower to “persuade” the body to produce the leukocytes for a specific illness.

In this you can obtain the help from powerful natural drugs – herbs, fruits, vegetables and spices.

The most important thing, natural therapists claim, is to believe that the solution exists.

Just as the stress, fed by the organism itself, is capable of causing illness, so are love, gratitude, security and other positive thoughts and emotions capable of renewing the body and healing it.

Editor In Chief Of World’s Best Known Medical Journal: Half Of All The Literature Is False .

Editor-In-Chief-Of-Worlds-Best-Known-Medical-Journal-Half-Of-All-The-Literature-Is-False

In the past few years more professionals have come forward to share a truth that, for many people, proves difficult to swallow.

One such authority is Dr. Richard Horton, the current editor-in-chief of the Lancet – considered to be one of the most well respected peer-reviewed medical journals in the world.

Dr. Horton recently published a statement declaring that a lot of published research is in fact unreliable at best, if not completely false.

“The case against science is straightforward: much of the scientific literature, perhaps half, may simply be untrue. Afflicted by studies with small sample sizes, tiny effects, invalid exploratory analyses, and flagrant conflicts of interest, together with an obsession for pursuing fashionable trends of dubious importance, science has taken a turn towards darkness.”

This is quite distrubing, given the fact that all of these studies (which are industry sponsored) are used to develop drugs/vaccines to supposedly help people, train medical staff, educate medical students and more.

It’s common for many to dismiss a lot of great work by experts and researchers at various institutions around the globe which isn’t “peer-reviewed” and doesn’t appear in a “credible” medical journal, but as we can see, “peer-reviewed” doesn’t really mean much anymore. “Credible” medical journals continue to lose their tenability in the eyes of experts and employees of the journals themselves, like Dr. Horton.

He also went on to call himself out in a sense, stating that journal editors aid and abet the worst behaviours, that the amount of bad research is alarming, that data is sculpted to fit a preferred theory. He goes on to observe that important confirmations are often rejected and little is done to correct bad practices. What’s worse, much of what goes on could even be considered borderline misconduct.

Dr. Marcia Angell, a physician and longtime Editor in Chief of the New England Medical Journal (NEMJ), which is considered to another one of the most prestigious peer-reviewed medical journals in the world, makes her view of the subject quite plain:

“It is simply no longer possible to believe much of the clinical research that is published, or to rely on the judgment of trusted physicians or authoritative medical guidelines. I take no pleasure in this conclusion, which I reached slowly and reluctantly over my two decades as an editor of the New England Journal of Medicine”

I apologize if you have seen it before in my articles, but it is quite the statement, and it comes from someone who also held a position similiar to Dr. Horton.

There is much more than anecdotal evidence to support these claims, however, including documents obtained by Lucija Tomljenovic, PhD, from the Neural Dynamics Research Group in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of British Columbia, which reveal that vaccine manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, and health authorities have known about multiple dangers associated with vaccines but chose to withhold them from the public. This is scientific fraud, and their complicity suggests that this practice continues to this day. (source)

This is just one of many examples, and alludes to one point Dr. Horton is referring to, the ommision of data. For the sake of time, I encourage you to do your own research on this subject. I just wanted to provide some food for thought about something that is not often considered when it comes to medical research, and the resulting products and theories which are then sold to us based on that research.

It’s truly a remarkable time to be alive. Over the course of human history, our planet has experienced multiple paradigm shifting realizations, all of which were met with harsh resistence at the time of their revelation. One great example is when we realized the Earth was not flat.

Today, we are seeing these kinds of revelatory shifts in thinking happen in multiple spheres, all at one time. It can seem overwhelming for those who are paying attention, especially given the fact that a lot of these ideas go against current belief systems. There will always be resistance to new information which does not fit into the current framework, regardless of how reasonable (or factual) that information might be.

Harvard Neurosurgeon Confirms The Afterlife Exists

By Steven Bancarz| Do we have a soul? Is there life after death?  The afterlife is something that has been experienced by countless people since recorded history who have returned to tell their tales, with the most noteworthy account experienced first-hand by Harvard trained brain neurosurgeon of 25 years, Dr. Eben Alexander.  This is not just another afterlife account that can be written off as a hallucination.  Before we look at exactly how his experience of the afterlife defies all scientific explanation, lets explore his account a little bit.

Before his experience, he did not believe existence of a non-physical spirit. Trained in western medical school and surrounded by medical colleagues who are deeply invested in the materialism view of the universe, he thought that the idea of a soul was outlandish.  Like most “skeptics”, he believed stories of the afterlife to be hallucinations or products of the human imagination.

After returning to his body and experiencing a miraculous healing against all odds, and went on to write the NY Times #1 best selling book “Proof of Heaven.” What Dr. Alexander confirms is that our life here is just a test help our souls evolve and grow, and that the way we succeed in doing so is to proceed with love and compassion.  Here are just a few other notable points he made:

– The experience of the afterlife was so “real” and expansive that the experience of living as a human on Earth seemed like an artificial dream by comparison.

The fabric of the afterlife was pure LOVE. Love dominated the afterlife to such a huge degree that the overall presence of evil was infinitesimally small. If you wish to know the Universe, know Love.

– In the afterlife, all communication was telepathic. There was no need for spoken words, nor even any separation between the self and everything else happening around you. All the questions you asked in your mind were immediately answered to you telepathically as well.

When asked what he wants everyone to know about the spiritual realm, he always answers saying that you are precious and infinitely loved more than you can possibly imagine. You are always safe. You are never alone. The unconditional and perfect Love of God neglects not one soul.

“Love is, without a doubt, the basis of everything. Not some abstract, hard-to-fathom kind of love but the day-to-day kind that everyone knows-the kind of love we feel when we look at our spouse and our children, or even our animals. In its purest and most powerful form, this love is not jealous or selfish, but unconditional.

This is the reality of realities, the incomprehensibly glorious truth of truths that lives and breathes at the core of everything that exists or will ever exist, and no remotely accurate understanding of who and what we are can be achieved by anyone who does not know it, and embody it in all of their actions.”

Now let’s talk credibility for a minute.  What makes this experience so much more significant than another NDE account? Eben’s neocortex was completely nonfunctional during the time of his coma do to his severe bacterial meningitis, so there is no scientific account for why he experienced this.  In fact, he gives refutations to 9 different possible scientific explanations for his experience in his book.

Exploring Naturalistic Explanations

Let’s take a look at 5 potential explanations he outlines in Appendix B of “Proof of Heaven”.  Some are of his explanations would make no sense to us as laymen untrained in neuroscientific terminology, so here are the most common explanations he refutes, all of which are taken verbatim from his book:

1. A primitive brainstem program to ease terminal pain and suffering (“evolutionary argument” – possibly as a remnant of feigned-death strategies from lower mammals?).  This did not explain the robust, richly interactive nature of the recollections.

2. The distorted recall of memories from deeper parts of the limbic system (for example, the lateral amygdala) that have enough overlying brain to be relatively protected from the meningitic inflammation, which occurs mainly at the brain’s surface.  This did not explain the robust, richly interactive nature of the recollections.

3. DMT dump.  DMT, a naturally occurring serotonin agonist causes vivid hallucinations and a dream-like state.  I am personally familiar with drug experiences related to serotonin agonist/antagonists (LSD) from my teen years in the early 70s.  I have had no personal experience with DMT but have seen patients under its influence.  The rich ultra-reality would still require fairly intact auditory and visual neocortex as target regions in which to generate such a rich audiovisual experience as I had in a coma.  Prolonged coma due to bacterial meningitis had badly damaged my neocortex, which is where all of the serotonin from the raphe nuclei in my brainstem (or DMT, a serotonin agonist) would have had effects on visual/auditory experiences.  But my cortex was off, and the DMT would have no place in the brain to act.

4. A reboot phenomenon – a random dump of bizarre dis-jointed memories due to old memories in the damaged neocortex, which might occur on restarting the cortex into consciousness after a prolonged system-wide failure, as in my diffuse meningitis.  Especially given the intricacies of my elaborate recollections, this seems most unlikely.

5. Unusual memory generation through an archaic visual pathway through the midbrain, prominently used in birds but only rarely identifiable in humans.  It can be demonstrated in humans who are cortically blind, due to occipital cortex.  It provided no clue as to the ultra-reality I witnessed and failed to explain the auditory-visual interleaving.

His NDE account stands as the most credible account of all time, and coming from his materialistic scientific background, we have good reason to believe that he really did have a vivid encounter with something beyond this world.

6 Bodily Tissues That Can Be Regenerated Through Nutrition

It may come as a surprise to some, especially those with conventional medical training, but the default state of the body is one of ceaseless regeneration. Without the flame-like process of continual cell turnover within the body – life and death ceaselessly intertwined – the miracle of the human body would not exist. In times of illness, however, regenerative processes are overcome by degenerative ones. This is where medicine may perform its most noble feat, nudging the body back into balance with foods, herbs, nutrients, healing energies, i.e. healing intention. Today, however, drug-based medicine invariably uses chemicals that have not one iota of regenerative potential; to the contrary, they almost always interfere with bodily self-renewal in order to suppress the symptoms against which they are applied. Despite the outright heretical nature of things which stimulate healing and regeneration vis-à-vis the conventional medical system which frowns upon, or is incredulous towards, spontaneous remission in favor of symptom suppression and disease management, over the course of the past few years of trolling MEDLINE we have collected a series of remarkable studies on the topic… Nerve Regeneration – There are actually a broad range of natural compounds with proven nerve-regenerative effects. A 2010 study published in the journal Rejuvenation Research, for instance, found a combination of blueberry, green tea and carnosine have neuritogenic (i.e. promoting neuronal regeneration) and stem-cell regenerative effects in an animal model of neurodegenerative disease. [1] Other researched neuritogenic substances include: There is another class of nerve-healing substances, known as remyelinating compounds, which stimulate the repair of the protective sheath around the axon of the neurons known as myelin, and which is often damaged in neurological injury and/or dysfunction, especially autoimmune and vaccine-induced demyelination disorders. It should also be noted that even music and falling in love have been studied for possibly stimulating neurogenesis, regeneration and/or repair of neurons, indicating that regenerative medicine does not necessary require the ingestion of anything; rather, a wide range of therapeutic actions may be employed to improve health and well-being, as well. [View the first-hand biomedical citations on these neuritogenic substance visit our Neuritogenic Research page on the topic] Liver Regeneration – Glycyrrhizin, a compound found within licorice, and which we recently featured as a powerful anti-SARS virus agent, has also been found to stimulate the regeneration of liver mass and function in the animal model of hepatectomy. Other liver regenerative substances include: [view the first-hand biomedical citations on the Liver Regeneration research page] Beta-Cell Regeneration – Unfortunately, the medical community has yet to harness the diabetes-reversing potential of natural compounds. Whereas expensive stem cell therapies, islet cell transplants, and an array of synthetic drugs in the developmental pipeline are the focus of billions of dollars of research, annually, our kitchen cupboards and backyards may already contain the long sought-after cure for type 1 diabetes. The following compounds have been demonstrated experimentally to regenerate the insulin-producing beta cells, which are destroyed in insulin dependent diabetes, and which once restored, may (at least in theory) restore the health of the patient to the point where they no longer require insulin replacement. [view the first-hand biomedical citations on the Beta Cell Regeneration research page] Hormone Regeneration – there are secretagogues, which increase the endocrine glands’ ability to secrete more hormone, and there are substances that truly regenerate hormones which have degraded (by emitting electrons) into potentially carcinogenic “transient hormone” metabolites. One of these substances is vitamin C. A powerful electron donor, this vitamin has the ability to contribute electrons to resurrect the form and function of estradiol (estrogen; E2), progesterone, testosterone, for instance. [2] In tandem with foods that are able to support the function of glands, such as the ovaries, vitamin C may represent an excellent complement or alternative to hormone replacement therapy. Cardiac Cell Regeneration – Not too long ago, it was believed that cardiac tissue was uniquely incapable of being regenerated. A new, but rapidly growing body of experimental research now indicates that this is simply not true, and there is a class of heart-tissue regenerating compounds known as neocardiogenic substances. Neocardiogenic substances are able to stimulate the formation of cardiac progenitor cells which can differentiate into healthy heart tissue, and they include the following: Another remarkable example of cardiac cell regeneration is through what is known as fetomaternal trafficking of stem cells through the placenta. In a recent article we discussed the amazing process known as “fetal microchimerism” by which the fetus contributes stem cells to the mother which are capable of regenerating her damaged heart cells, and possibly a wide range of other cell types. Cartilage/Joint/Spine Regeneration – Curcumin and resveratrol have been shown to improve recovery from spinal cord injury. Over a dozen other natural compounds hold promise in this area, which can be viewed on our Spinal Cord Injury page. As far as degenerative joint disease, i.e. osteoarthritis, there are a broad range of potentially regenerative substances, with 50 listed on our osteoarthritis research page. Ultimately, regenerative medicine threatens to undermine the very economic infrastructure that props up the modern, drug-based and quite candidly degenerative medical system. Symptom suppression is profitable because it guarantees both the perpetuation of the original underlying disease, and the generation of an ever-expanding array of additional, treatment-induced symptoms. This is the non-sustainable, infinite growth model which shares features characteristic of the process of cancer itself – a model, which by its very nature, is doomed to fail and eventually collapse. Cultivating diets, lifestyles and attitudes conducive to bodily regeneration can interrupt this pathological circuit, and help us to attain the bodily freedom that is a precondition for the liberation of the human soul and spirit, as well. Long-Term Relationships Associated With Reduced Testosterone

Why Is This Important?

Because relationships and testosterone are two things that define a man, and they are apparently at odds with one another.

Health & Sports News: Long-Term Relationships Associated With Reduced Testosterone

Long Story Short

A new study finds that men in long-term relationships exhibit lower levels of testosterone than single men or men in newer relationships. Earlier research only focused on the relationship/no relationship binary.

Long Story

Many a man has joked that he feels like less of a man once he’s settled down. Usually, that’s attributed to reduced engagement in things like overt womanizing, dick-measuring contests and other boneheaded “stereotypical male” behavior. However, a new study by researchers from the University of Sunderland and the University of Worcester finds that they may not be joking at all — men in long-term relationships (more than one year) consistently tested lower for testosterone than single men or men in new relationships.

The study involved taking salivary samples from 76 heterosexual men between the ages of 18 and 39. Men were grouped based on their relationship status into two groups: Long-term, and either single or near-term. This was a departure from earlier studies, which asked men to categorize their relationship status with vagaries like “casually dating” or “in a relationship.”

Across the board, men in committed relationships longer than one year exhibited lower testosterone levels than their counterparts. Neither age nor relationship satisfaction nor sexual behavior appeared to have any effect. If you’re tied down, you have lower T-levels, period. This is believed to play an evolutionary role, as men with lowered testosterone are more likely to be better caregivers and less likely to pursue additional sexual partners.

The study leaves a lot of questions unanswered, namely that of cause and effect. Since there was no baseline testosterone measurement, it’s not immediately clear that relationships result in lowered testosterone. It could be, for instance, that men with lower testosterone are more likely to seek out steady relationships, whereas men with higher levels may be inclined to remain single in order to enjoy a wider variety of partners.

That shouldn’t necessarily stop you from holding this little tidbit over your wife’s head, though.
